Hot-Shooting Hosts Down Grace
HUNTINGTON – A hot-shooting Huntington squad down Grace College 75-52 Saturday in a Crossroads League women’s basketball contest.
The host Foresters shot 29-of-50 from the field and 12-of-16 from the free throw line in the conference win.
Grace, which trailed 40-29 at halftime, shot 20-of-45 from the field and just 9-of-17 from the line. The Lancers also had 24 turnovers in the loss, their second straight in league play.
Sophomore Allison Kauffman paced Grace with 14 points and six rebounds. Freshman Sarah Feasby had eight points, while senior Emily Bidwell and freeman Gabby Bryant each added seven.
Grace, which had lost 68-40 to No. 3 Indiana Wesleyan at home Wednesday night, drops to 7-3 overall and 1-2 in league play.
Taylor Foley scored a game-high 19 points to lead Huntington, which improves to 7-2 overall and 2-1 in the conference. Pazia Speed and Allison Greene each had 14 points for the winners.
Grace plays at IU-Northwest Saturday night. Huntington hosts Purdue-Calumet Tuesday evening.
