NEW CASTLE – A pair of former area prep stars in Scott Blum and Shawn Kemp are among the 18 men who have been named to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame¹s 2013 Silver Anniversary Team, based on outstanding accomplishments as a senior basketball player 25 years ago.
Blum was a standout player at Oregon-Davis High School and went on to star at Grace College after first attending Valparaiso University. He led Oregon-Davis to a 44-5 mark his final two seasons, including a 23-2 record and a sectional championship as a senior when he averaged 20.4 points-per-game.

Kemp led Concord to a state runner-up finish his senior season in 1988 and an 85-19 mark during his prep career. A McDonald’s All-American, Kemp scored 2,134 points at Concord, which ranks him 23rd in state history.
Kemp, despite never playing in college, went on to a lengthy career in the NBA, where he was a six-time All Star. Kemp, known for his dunking ability as a high-flying power forward, starred for most of his pro career with Seattle, where he now lives.
