Shooting On Sheridan Ruled Suicide
At about 4:37 p.m. Monday, Warsaw Police were called to 1002 E. Sheridan St. in response to a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found Travis A. Perney, 28, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Perney, a resident of the home, was stabilized by Multi-Township EMS and Warsaw Fire personnel and then transported to KCH where he was flown to Parkview North Regional Hospital by Samaritan.
Perney underwent emergency surgery but died during the surgery.
Warsaw Police say the preliminary investigation reveals Perney had some current relationship issues and was despondent. The shooting was self-inflicted. The Warsaw Police Department Detective Division continues to investigate the matter.
The Allen County Coroner’s office is assisting in the investigation. After results of testing done at Parkview Hospital, a final ruling will be determined by investigators.
