Tiger Ladies Post Swim Victory
WARSAW – The Warsaw girls swim team continued its impressive start to the season with a convincing win Tuesday night over Huntington North.
Junior Ashley Van Wormer won a pair of events to pace the Tigers to a 121-49 home win over the Vikings.
Van Wormer won the 200 IM in a time of 2:32.85 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:15.97.
Warsaw also got individual victories from Jessica Haines in the 200 freestyle (2:13.18), Liz Slough in the 100 fly (1:07.75), Jessica Sweatland in the 100 freestyle (1:01.16), Erin Sandberg in the 500 freestyle (5:57.93) and Malorie Rheinhardt in the 100 backstroke (1:09.10).
The Tigers also swept first-place finishes in all three relay races. The foursome of Rheinhardt, Van Wormer, Slough and Sweatland won the 200 medley event in a time of 2:03.49. The team of Sweatland, Sandberg, Meghan Boston and Audra Harman won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:53.47 and Boston, Haines, Sandberg and Cynthia Juarez claimed first in the 400 freestyle relay event in 4:13.84.
