Pairings have been announced for the Teachers Credit Union Bi-County Girls and Boys Basketball Tournaments set for Jan. 15-19.

The Triton girls and boys teams, both ranked No. 10 in the latest Class 1-A polls, drew a first-round home contest versus Argos in the annual event. The girls are scheduled to host Argos Jan. 15 at 6:30 p.m. with the boys game to follow.

Other first-round match ups in the 48th annual event, also scheduled for Jan. 15, have Bremen at Culver, Glenn at Oregon-Davis and New Prairie at LaVille. Those will also be girl/boy doubleheaders with the girls games also first at 6:30 p.m., followed by the boys contests.

The girls consolation and semifinal games will be played Jan. 17 at LaVille. The consolation games will be played at 6:30 and approximately 8 p.m. in the auxiliary gym with the semifinals at the same times in the main gym.  The championship game will be played at LaVille Jan. 19 at 6:30 p.m.

The boys consolation and semifinal games will be played Jan. 18 at LaVille. Those will also start at 6:30 and 8 p.m. in both gyms.

The Triton boys team has won three straight Bi-County tourney titles.  The Oregon-Davis girls squad, currently ranked No. 3 in Class 1-A, are the defending ladies champs and the Bobcats have won five of the last six girls titles.

This year’s tourney will also honor the all-time winningest coaches for the event. Former Bremen coach Marty Huber will be honored on the girls side and former Glenn coach Gordon Mosson on the boys side. Huber, who guided the Lions to seven Bi-County tourney titles, will be honored Jan. 17 between semifinal games. Mosson, who won 10 tourney games while at Glenn and is now an assistant coach at Triton, will be saluted Jan. 18 between semifinal games.

The JV portion of the tourney begins Monday, Jan. 14.
