Colleen A. Schwalm, 58, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at her home.

She was born on Dec. 11, 1953, in Goshen, Ind., to Harry L. and Peggy (Nolan) Coy. She was a lifetime Syracuse area resident and graduated in 1972 from Wawasee High School. She was employed at Crossroads Bank in Syracuse for eight years and formerly employed at Goshen Auto Electric, State Bank of Syracuse and was a waitress.

She formerly attended Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse and was a former member of the American Legion Post 223 Auxiliary in Syracuse.

She is survived by a son: Ryan (Nicole) Schwalm, Syracuse; a step-grandson: Austin Bickel; her mother: Peggy Felts, Syracuse; a sister: Nancy Feaster, Syracuse; a brother: Barry Coy, Michigan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father: Harry Coy; and her step-father: Nelson Felts.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Memorial services will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home on Wednesday. Private burial will take place in the Syracuse Cemetery.
