Warsaw Boys Dominating In NLC Win
GOSHEN – A clean sweep of first-place finishes in all 12 events powered the Warsaw boys swim team to a dominating win at Goshen Saturday.
The Tigers took the top spot in eight individual races, plus the diving competition, and also won all three relay events in topping the host Redskins 131-55 in Northern Lakes Conference action.
The trio of Ethan Cook, Spencer Davidson and Jayden Parrett each were double individual winners to pace the Tigers.
Cook won the 200 and 500 freestyle races, while Davidson took first in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke and Parrett prevailed in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke events.
The outstanding trio each also swam on two of the three winning relay teams for the Tigers.
Warsaw also got individual wins from Caleb Snyder in the 200 individual medley and Josh Miller in the 100 freestyle. Dean Katris won the diving competition with a top score of 201.30.
The Tigers also won the 200 medley relay with the team of Parrett, Davidson, Snyder and Matt Wildman winning in a time of 1:45.01. The foursome of Mac Pelo, Snyder, Wildman and Cook won the 200 freestyle relay in a time of 1:40.81 and the team of Cook, Davidson, Parrett and Miller won the 400 freestyle relay in 3:41.70.
Warsaw had 30 season best times and 14 career best efforts in the dominating win.
Warsaw improves to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in the NLC. Goshen drops to 1-4 overall and 1-2 in league action.
Warsaw hosts NLC foe Plymouth Tuesday at 4:45 p.m.
