Keith B. Miller
Keith B. Miller, 91, of New Paris, Ind., died early Tuesday morning, Dec. 18, 2012, at IU Health Goshen Hospital.
He was born Aug. 13, 1921, in Elkhart County, Ind., to William A. and Fern Patricia (Barnard) Miller. On May 31, 1944, he married Naomi Mohler, in Syracuse, Ind.
Miller was a lifelong resident of the area. When he wasn’t farming, he worked at Goshen Veneer and Barler Metal. He planted 55 acres as a tree farmer. He was a member of Solomon Creek United Methodist Church and served many years on area boards, including the MACOG Board, and the Soil and Water Conservation Board of Elkhart County. He was a Junior Forest Ranger and received the Uncle Elmer Award in the 1970’s.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter: Darlene K. Stone, Elkhart, Ind.; three grandchildren: Kris Batten, Rochester, Ind.; Justin Stone, Weston, Fla.; Cindy Ralston, New Paris; six great-grandchildren; a sister: Betty (Clifford) Gabbard, El Paso, Tex.; and a brother: Larry D. Miller, Goshen, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Roger L. Miller; four brothers: Harold Miller; Ronald Miller; Junior Miller; Robert G. Miller; and two sisters: Mary Swihart; and Marjorie Perrin.
Friends may call 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Glenda Woodcox of Solomon Creek United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Solomon Creek Cemetery, Syracuse, Ind.
