Charles ‘Gene’ Bryant
Charles “Gene” Bryant, 89, of Pierceton, Ind., went home to be with the Lord at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at his residence.
As a life-long farmer, Gene learned well, the principle of sewing and reaping and applied it to his life in the best of ways. He will be remembered for his perseverance, his hard wok, his love and devotion to his family, his modest way, his simple faith, and generosity to family, friends, and ministries across the globe.
Gene was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., where he was a member of Dutchtown Brethren Church of Warsaw, Ind., and he attended Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church in Winona Lake.
He was born on Sept. 30, 1923, in Pierceton, Ind., to Charles Reed Bryant and Sarah (Byerly) Bryant. On May 12, 1946, in Warsaw he was married to Miriam Annette Locke, who survives in Pierceton, Ind.
Gene will also be lovingly remembered by his three daughters: Sharon (Art) Obregon, Pierceton; Rebecca (Ron) Ogden, Winona Lake; Diane (Ryan) Piper, Indianapolis, Ind.; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a brother: Sherman (Colleen) Bryant, North Webster, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers: Wendell and Max Wayne Bryant
His visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw. His funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Reverend Tom Miller and assisted by Pastor Jack Worth. A graveside service will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery of Pierceton, Ind.
