Katherine C. Yoder, 79, of Milford, Ind., passed away at 1:50 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, N.C.

She was born on Aug. 7, 1933, in Syracuse, Ind., to Jonas Russell and Mary A. (Droke) Kistler.

She was a lifetime Kosciusko County area resident and attended Syracuse Public Schools. On March 14, 1951, in Crewe, Va., she married Omer E. Yoder, who survives. She was a homemaker and retired in 2001 as a dietary aid at Goshen General Hospital.

She was a member of the Open Bible Baptist Church at Barbee Lake.

She is survived by her husband: Omer Yoder, Milford; two daughters: Kathy Johnson, Goshen; and Marijane (Elbert) Campbell, Hiddenite, N.C.; a son: Omer “Gene” (Lisa) Yoder, New Paris, Ind.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister: Martha Melcher, Poteet, Texas; two brothers: Nelson (Jean) Kistler, Milford; and George (Linda) Kistler, Auburn, Ind.

She was preceded by her parents; a son: Robert Yoder; a grandson: Roger Yoder; and two brothers: Claude and Stanley Kistler.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500 North, North Webster, Ind., and a half hour prior to 10:30 a.m. services on Friday, Jan. 11, at the Open Bible Baptist Church, 21 EMS B61, Warsaw, Ind. (Barbee, Ind.) with Pastor Sam Carns of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Pierceton.

Memorial bequest may be given to the Open Bible Baptist Church, 21 EMS B61, Warsaw, IN 46580. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
