Warsaw Ladies Splash Past Valley
AKRON- A handful of individuals each were winners Wednesday night to lead the Warsaw girls swim team to a victory at Tippecanoe Valley.
The Tigers, returning to action for the first time since Dec. 18, won eight events to record the 123-55 win.
Leading the way for Warsaw were winners Margot Rheinhardt in the 200 individual medley (2:36.03), Jessica Sweatland in the 50 freestyle (39.44), Jessica Haines in the 100 freestyle (1:03.35), Cynthia Juarez in the 500 freestyle (5:46.78) and Erin Sandberg in the 100 backstroke (1:11.86).
Coach Nate Long’s Tiger squad, now 6-3 on the season, also won all three relay races. The 200 medley relay team of Haines, Ashley Van Wormer, Juarez and Meghan Boston were victorious in a time of 2:10.09. The foursome of Juarez, Boston, Van Wormer and Audra Harman won the 200 freestyle relay race in a time of 2:00.04 and the team of Sweatland, Harman, Boston and Juarez topped the field in the 400 freestyle relay race in a top time of 4:15.21.
Warsaw, 3-3 in conference action, hosts league foe Concord Saturday at 9:15 a.m.
