Iona D. Poston, 83, North Manchester, Ind., passed away at 1:05 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester.

She was born Oct. 5, 1929, in Laketon, Ind., to Charles R. & Adelia (Moore) Shaffer, Sr.  She graduated from Laketon High School in 1947.  On June 6, 1948, she married William H. Poston. He died Aug. 10, 2008.

Iona was a homemaker and a sales rep with Old Fort Specialty, Fort Wayne, Ind. She was a member of Laketon American Legion Post #402 Auxiliary, Laketon.

She is survived by two sons: Michael J. (Bonnie) Poston, Winston-Salem, N.C.; Kim A. (Rida) Poston, Cullman, Ala.; two daughters: Deborah Dee Young, Fort Wayne; Diana Lee (Ken) Lybarger, North Manchester, Ind.; one brother: Charles R. Shaffer Jr., Laketon; one sister: Marcia (Barnett) Wolfrum, LaFontaine, Ind.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be January 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m at Peabody Chapel, 400 W. Seventh Street, North Manchester. The family will receive friends following the service.  Pastor J. P. Freeman and Reverend Sue Babovec will officiate.  A Private family burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
