United Way Accepting Funding Requests
The United Way of Kosciusko County is pleased to announce that it will be accepting funding requests for the July 1, 2013, through June 30, 2014, fiscal year beginning Monday, Jan. 14.
Organizations with programs that wish to be considered must meet funding process guidelines. This includes the completion of a Request for Funding packet. The packet includes a Logic Model which must reflect the programs’ key outcomes and a measurement framework for proving results.
All daycare facilities seeking funding must be state licensed, seeking accreditation and a Level 3 or 4 on the state of Indiana rating system, Paths to Quality.
The funding packet is available at www.unitedwaykosciusko.org. The deadline for submitting requests is Feb. 28, 2013.
The outcomes must meet one of the UWKC‘s focus areas:
- Education – focus on school readiness, which will ensure that children entering Kindergarten have achieved the appropriate developmental milestones; and early academic achievement which will ensure that students’ reading comprehension skills are at the appropriate level by grade three.
- Income – focus on increasing the number of working families and individuals that are economically self-sufficient which will be achieved by strategies involving employability, family management and family stabilization.
- Health – focus on improving the health of residents through fitness, nutrition, destructive behavior reduction, health accessibility and children’s oral health.
A training will be held at the United Way office from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, to discuss any changes to this year’s application packet. If you are applying for United Way program funding for the first time, or are a new agency director, we encourage you to attend.
To register for the training, call Erin Smith, Community Impact Coordinator at 574-269-2592 x102 or email [email protected].
