Scholarship Information Sessions Offered
The Kosciusko County Community Foundation will host scholarship information sessions from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, and from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at their office on 102 E. Market St., Warsaw, for anyone interested in learning how to apply, helpful hints, and answers to frequently asked questions. In case of inclement weather, cancellations will be posted on the foundation’s website.
Area high school and college students are invited to apply for Community Foundation scholarships online. Paper applications will no longer be accepted. Applicants will have the opportunity to fill out a general application. Based on their answers to questions about their high school, college plans, etc., the online system will either automatically match them to a scholarship opportunity or will suggest opportunities to them for which further application steps are required.
The deadline to apply for more than 80 Community Foundation scholarship opportunities is April 1. Interested applicants should visit www.kcfoundation.org/seekingfunds/scholarships for more information.
The Community Foundation’s online application is only available for foundation-held scholarships. The foundation has free scholarship directory CDs that include information about scholarships available throughout the county. Applicants to scholarships offered by other organizations must follow the application directions provided on the CD by the organizations. CDs are available at the Community Foundation office, at area high school guidance offices and at public libraries throughout the county.
