Winter Carnival Winners, Postponement Noted
Approximately 140 individuals attended the Wawasee Kiwanis Winter Carnival Soup Supper on Friday, Jan. 25, to sample 22 different varieties of soups and vote for their favorites.
Soup entries competed in two categories: business and local individual. An overall winner was also picked with this year’s title going to Grill ‘n’ Grate with its chicken cordon bleu soup.
In the business category, the first-place winner was Owens Family Funeral Homes with its taco soup while Psychobilly Kustoms came in second with its Hansel and Gretel’s cheese and bratwurst with breadcrumbs soup.
For the local individual category, the winner was Susan Littlefield with her corn chowder soup. Runner-up was Margaret Vandal with her Andalusan chicken and wild rice soup.
In other Kiwanis news, the snowmobile drags have been postponed once more due to ice conditions and will instead occur Saturday, Feb. 16, as long as ice conditions are favorable. Registration will still occur at 8:30 a.m. that morning with the radar runs and other races following at 10 a.m.
Keep an eye on the Wawasee Kiwanis website, www.wawaseekiwanis.org, for the latest information about the snowmobile drags.
