Missing Akron Man’s Vehicle Found In Chicago
The wife of an Akron man who disappeared Feb. 1 is asking for information leading to his whereabouts.
Amber Paredes contacted StaceyPageOnline.com Saturday saying a police report had been filed in Fulton County, but she believes her husband went missing from the Warsaw area more than a week ago.
“On Friday night, Feb. 1, my husband went out to hang out with a friend and never came home,” Amber said. “He called me at 11:10 p.m. and said he would be home soon. I had a missed call on my cell phone at 12:06 a.m., but he would call the house phone so that seemed unusual to me.”
Ruben Paredes, 32, is Hispanic, about 180 pounds with tattoos on his back, chest and both upper arms. One of his tattoos is a on his right upper arm with an open-mouthed pitbull and the saying “Only the Strong Survive.”
Akron Police Chief Tim Fleck confirmed today that he did take a missing person report from Amber Paredes at about 12:15 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 3. “At this point there is nothing suspicious” about the disappearance, Fleck told StaceyPageOnline.com. “There is no sign of foul play or criminal activity.”
Fleck alerted Kosciusko County authorities Sunday whom he said did check several residences in and around Warsaw where Ruben Paredes had friends. The search failed to locate him.
On Tuesday, Feb. 5, Fleck said Ruben’s vehicle was found abandoned in Chicago. It was located on the south side of Chicago in a business district in front of a church where it had reportedly been left a few days earlier. The vehicle was processed for information but failed to reveal any clues, said Fleck.
Amber Paredes said it is not like her husband to just disappear. She is offering a reward for anyone who can help locate him.
