LCA Seniors Shine On Their Night
WINONA LAKE – The senior members of the Lakeland Christian Academy boys basketball team made it a Senior Night to remember Tuesday.
The Cougars, led by its seven seniors, crushed Community Baptist of South Bend 79-44 at home Tuesday night.
The hosts led 24-10 after the opening period and 38-19 at halftime en route to the dominating victory.
The senior trio of Collin Price, Zarek Finley and Calvin Prinsen led the way on Senior Night for LCA. Price scored 17 points while Finley and Prinsen each netted 16. Prinsen also had 10 rebounds and six assists.
The Cougars, who snapped a five-game losing streak, also got eight points from senior Noah Cole and seven from senior Chris Maron. Seniors Joel Haines and Billy Pitts scored three points and two points respectively for the winners.
Junior Logan Mount also had a big game for the Cougars with 13 points to go with 12 rebounds.
“I’m really happy with our unselfishness and our effort throughout the game,” said LCA coach Lee Compson. “Our seniors did a great job of leading us like they are supposed to on Senior Night.”
Sam Fielder led Community Baptist with 12 points.
LCA, now 6-13 on the season, plays at Oregon-Davis Thursday night.
