Michael Aughinbaugh, 59, of North Manchester, Ind., passed away at 9:24 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.

He was born Feb. 18, 1953, to Duane and Melva (Fultz) Piper. On Nov. 20, 1970, he married Virginia L. Keirn.

Mike was a heating and cooling contractor and had been a fire truck driver for North Manchester Fire Department and Chester Township Fire Department. He also served as a volunteer firefighter with those departments. He was an avid outdoorsman and a John Wayne fan.

He is survived by Duane (Joyce) Piper, North Manchester; his mother: Melva Gilbert, North Manchester; a son: Bob (Tiann) Aughinbaugh, Huntington, Ind.; a daughter: Michelle (Troy) Wilcoxson, Columbia City, Ind.; four grandchildren; a  brother: Steve Aughinbaugh, Texas, Ind.; two sisters: Kris Marshall and Kay Aughinbaugh, both of North Manchester.

He was preceded in death by his father: Lee Aughinbaugh.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, in Congregational Christian Church, 310 N. Walnut St., North Manchester. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the church with Pastor J.P. Freeman.

Arrangements are entrusted to McKee Mortuary, 1401 SR 114 W., North Manchester.
