Grace Prof Discusses Fossils
Dee Vida’s second-grade class at Warsaw Christian School learned about fossils from Dr. Don DeYoung, professor of physics and chairman of the Science and Mathematics Department at Grace College.
Dr. DeYoung brought fossils found in Indiana for the class to look at, feel, classify and discuss. He also brought some Wooly Mammoth molars and kneecap.
He discussed dinosaurs briefly, and talked about the differences between dinosaurs, flying reptiles, and swimming reptiles and said that only land dinosaurs are truly classified as dinosaurs.
To follow up, the students had a Dinosaur Day to complete the study of the fossil/dinosaur unit in science. Books written by Dr. DeYoung can be found at DiscoveryOfDesign and AnswersInGenesis.
