Randall D. Jones
Randall D. Jones, 56, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 8:11 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born to Bob L. and Carroll (Randall) Jones on July 6, 1956, in Warsaw. He was a lifetime resident of Warsaw.
Randy enjoyed his family and as he waved to strangers as they drove by the bench that he occupied. Many times you may have seen him riding his bike – if pumped up tires permitted him – through our fair city.
Randy attended Madison Elementary and Warsaw Junior High schools after completion he attended Cardinal Center where he learned the basic life skills that held strong through the rest of his life.
As an athlete for Special Olympics of Kosciusko County, he earned a gold medal in track in 1973 and in basketball in 1974 and 1975. Randy was gainfully employed by many friends who needed help, from construction, to cutting wood or raking leaves. He never refused a friend and never met a stranger.
Randy attended Warsaw Church of God in his early and teen years and later he attended The Mennonite Church of Warsaw.
He is survived by his brothers: Kevin (Dee Dee) Jones, Warsaw; and Richard (Jennifer) Kellstrom, Kettering, Ohio; sisters: Patricia Kellstrom, Warsaw; and Teresa (James) Baldacci, North Webster, Ind.; nieces: Chelsea, Kiersten, Kim, Kira, Jayme and Samantha; nephews: Caleb, Zack, Tyler, Markus and Kody; one great-nephew: Jayden; and two great-neices: Joselynn and Lilly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother: Kim; and a nephew: Mikey.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday March 14, at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Sprong officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
