North Webster Community Center Outreach Corner
The North Webster Community Center invites you to attend Vegas Night. The event is an annual fundraiser that starts at 6 p.m. March 23. Admission into the event will be $25.
Guests will receive dinner, domestic beer, DJ provided music and dancing. There will be several games of chance with prizes ranging from $500 to two big screen televisions. A community center is the heart of the community.
The NWCC will be hosting a comedy camp for kids summer program June 10-14 for ages 9-18. Cost of attendance is $125 for the week. Camp goers will learn about comedy improv and comedy sketch writing. In addition, campers will put on a show for their friends and family. The camp will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information on the event visit the NWCC website.
T’ai Chi classes will be held from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays in April at the community Center. Cost for the classes is $60 for eight courses offered over four weeks.
Painting courses will be offered at 5:30 p.m. Thursdays, March 21 to April 25. Cost to attend is $80. Bring canvas and paints. Subjects will be supplied. Beginners are welcome.
Kids Comedy class will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. April 3rd (Wawasee Spring Break) for kids ages 8-13. The course will show children how to be funny-games to help build confidence and listening.
Glass Fusion classes will be held at 5:30 p.m. on April 15. The classes will cost $45 and all supplies will be included. Learn to cut colored and dichroic glass and assemble to a piece of art . Students will decide if they want to turn it into a sun catcher or a piece of jewelry. We will fire it in the kiln and it will all fuse together.
Precious Metal Clay course will be held at 5:30 p.m. April 29. The course will cost $55. Using a small ball of metal clay we will learn to form it into a pendant with different tools, textures and stamps. After firing in the kiln you are left with 99.9% silver. We will meet May 6 to polish and patina our masterpieces. All supplies and tools provided.
Screenwriting classes will be offered from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays April 29 to June 3. Classes will cost $45. Learn the tools to bring your story to screenplay. Learn about structure, plot points, character building, and tips about the industry from Flowfeel Films and Chicago Comedy Film Festival producer Brent Kado.
