Ruth L. Bishop, 96, of North Manchester, Ind., passed at 1 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw, Ind.

She was born Nov. 18, 1916, in Miami County, Ind., to Charles and Mae (Murphy) Walker. On Dec. 28, 1935, she married Kempies M. Bishop. He died Aug. 3, 2003.

Ruth was a homemaker and had worked at Controls Company of America, North Manchester for nine years and at Burch’s Corner Cupboard, North Manchester, Ind., for several years. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and her yard.

She is survived by two sons: LeRoy (Dorcas) Bishop, North Manchester; and Gerald ‘Gerry’ Bishop, Fort Wayne, Ind.; one brother: Robert (Ruby) Walker, Wabash, Ind.; one sister: Helen Wright, Wabash; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by one brother and four sisters.

Visitation will take place from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 W, North Manchester. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at the funeral home. Pastor Ed French will officiate. Burial will be in South Pleasant Cemetery, North Manchester.
