WARSAW – Mother Nature is already making an impact on the start of the high school spring sports season.

WCHS has already had to cancel three events due to the cold weather.

The Warsaw baseball team’s scrimmage scheduled for today (March 19) at DeKalb has been cancelled. The Tigers are slated to open the season by hosting Huntington North on March 25 at 5 p.m.

The girls and boys track teams have also seen each of their openers cancelled.  The girls home meet versus Penn, South Bend Washington and Culver scheduled for Wednesday is off as is the boys home meet versus Fort Wayne Snider that was slated for Thursday. Neither of the meets will be rescheduled.

The girls track team, weather permitting, is now scheduled to open its season at home versus Bremen and Kokomo on Friday at 5 p.m.

The boys track team is slated to open its season at Penn on March 26 at 5 p.m.

The Warsaw softball team is scheduled to host Elkhart Central Saturday at 11 a.m. in its season opener.
