Amish Acres Celebrates The Easter Holiday
The secular traditions and festivities that surround and symbolize Easter create a spring stir at Amish Acres Historic Farm and Heritage Resort in Nappanee.
The day begins at 10:30 a.m. when the century old barn Restaurant opens its doors for the famous Threshers Dinner served buffet style until 5 p.m. Guests are invited to dine amidst the hand hewn beams around antique tables and chairs.
The meal begins with piping hot bowls of thick ham and bean soup along with fresh baked hearth bread and apple butter, cabbage salad, and sweet mixed pickles. Everything from the family style meal will be on the buffet including country broasted chicken, honey baked ham, tender roast beef, mashed potatoes, sage stuffing, giblet gravy, beef and noodles, and green beans with ham.
A delicious selection of homemade fruit and cream pies as well as the prized shoofly pie is included with the meal.
