Jane Jontz, 87, Winona Lake, Ind., passed away at 5:55 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Grace Village Healthcare in Winona Lake.

She was born on March 5, 1926, in Winona Lake, to the late John Robert Richards and Mary Eileen (Martin) Richards Sands. On Nov. 28, 1948, she was married to Robert Samuel Jontz, who passed away on June 19, 1994.

Jane was a 1944 graduate of Warsaw High School, she then went on to study for two years at International Business College in Fort Wayne, Ind. She was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., where she farmed with her late husband, and was a member of West Eel River Church of the Brethren in Silver Lake, Ind.

She is survived by her daughters: Marsha (Phil) Barkey, Winona Lake; Linda (Jim) Chakos, Coronado, Calif.; four grandchildren: Curt Barkey; Kristin Mason, Warsaw; Ben and Danelle Barkey, Winona Lake, Ind.; Diane and Barbra Chakos, Coronado; two great-grandchildren: Dylan and Aliah Barkey, Winona Lake; and her sister; Joan Neff, Kansas City, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

No visitation is planned. A private family graveside service will be conducted on Monday, April 8, at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw and officiated by Pastor Michael Smith. Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw, Ind., was entrusted with the arrangements.
