Man Injured In Local Firearm Accident
Indiana Conservation Officers investigated a firearm accident at about 5 p.m. Friday that occurred in the Tri-County Fish & Wildlife Area in North Webster.
Joey Douglas, 26, of Elkhart, was said to be target shooting when he attempted to chamber a cartridge into the barrel of his rifle. It is believed the rifle had been obstructed by another cartridge lodged inside the gun’s barrel. The obstructing cartridge discharged which resulted in wrist and hand injuries to Douglas.
He was transported to Goshen General Hospital for treatment.
