Wolf, Stoddard Star For Wildcats
ARGOS – Wyatt Wolf provided the pitch and Alex Stoddard took care of the pop at the plate Saturday to lead Whitko to a doubleheader sweep in prep baseball action at Argos.
Wolf fired a no-hitter in the opener of the twin bill as the Wildcats posted a 13-0 win. Wolf walked two and struck out nine in the victory.
Stoddard had a huge day at the dish for the Wildcats. He went 3-5 with a home run, double and four RBI in the opener. Stoddard was even better in a 14-3 win in five innings in the nightcap as he blasted a grand slam homer and another solo roundtripper to power Whitko to the sweep.
Hunter Sroufe went 4-4 with two doubles and four runs scored in the game one win for Whitko. Ryan Weigold was 2-4 with an RBI in the opener.
Tanner Gaff got into the long ball derby in the nightcap for the Wildcats as he connected for a pair of solo shots. Avery Robbins, Seth Patrick and Weigold each had two hits in the game two win.
Zach Snep went the first four innings on the hill to notch the pitching win in the nightcap.
Whitko improves to 3-1 on the season, while Argos is 0-2.
The Wildcats play at Wawasee April 9 at 5 p.m.
