Lydia Mae (Miller) Schmucker
Lydia Mae (Miller) Schmucker, 83, of Nappanee, Ind., passed away at 7:45 p.m., Sunday, April 7, 2013 at her residence after a 6 month illness.
She was born April 20, 1929, to Jacob and Katie Ann (Mast) Miller in Kosciusko County. She married Harvey E. Schmucker April 24, 1952. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Schmucker was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Surviving are her children: Marvin (Ruth) Schmucker, Goshen, Ind.; Barbara (Jeff) Smith, Goshen, Raymond Schmucker, North Webster, Ind.; John (Kati) Schmucker, Wakarusa, Ind.; Mary Esther (Norman) Slabaugh, Etna Green, Ind.; Emmon (Dana) Schmucker, Goshen; Katie Ann (Lloyd) Slabaugh, Nappanee; Daniel (Ruth) Schmucker, Wakarusa; 24 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister: Susie (David) Miller, Blair, Wiscon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, children: Ida Sue, Paul, Bertha, and Susan Elizabeth Schmucker; a grandson: Darrell Schmucker; brothers: Eli, Monroe, John, Amos and Henry Miller, and sisters: Amanda Borkholder, Mattie Lambright, Esther Lambright, and Mary Ann Miller.
Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 8, and all day Tuesday, April 9, at the family residence at 71915 CR 3, Nappanee. Funeral Services will be at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 10, at the Lavern Chupp residence (71052 CR 3). The Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate and burial will be in Weldy Cemetery.
