Heart Of Gold Nominations Sought
Do you know someone who is always doing something nice for others? Maybe they rake leaves for an elderly neighbor, take meals to someone who is homebound, or volunteer for the jobs no one else wants to do. The Kosciusko County Community Foundation wants you to nominate that person for a Heart of Gold award.
The Heart of Gold program recognizes ordinary people in our community who perform extraordinary acts of kindness and service for others.
Nominees must live, work or volunteer in Kosciusko County. There are no age restrictions regarding who can nominate or who can be nominated.
Up to 50 people nominated will be invited to a Heart of Gold reception to be held on the evening of June 4 at the Center Lake Pavilion. There, they will meet their nominators, be recognized and have the opportunity to award a Community Foundation grant in their honor to the charity of their choice.
Last year, $9,200 was granted to area nonprofit organizations in honor of Heart of Gold recipients. This year, for the first time, the Heart of Gold event will also recognize one service club and one nonprofit, nominated by their peers, for extraordinary service.
Help us celebrate the Hearts of Gold in our community by nominating someone you know. The deadline for nominations is April 26. Nomination forms are available online at www.kcfoundation.org or by visiting the Foundation office, located at 102 E. Market St. in downtown Warsaw.
