Burket UMC Presents ‘Aldersgate Experience’
Burket United Methodist Church will present “Aldersgate Experience” April 26-28 at the church, 102 S. Market St., Burket. Area residents are invited to join in and experience the healing hand of God during several services and seminars throughout the three day event.
Opening service will begin at 7 p.m. April 26 with Rev. Ron Russell. Seminars will be held at 4 p.m. April 27, including “Speaking the Prophetic Word of God” with Rev. Dr. Bernadine Daniels and “Put Life in Your Prayer Life” with Teresa Hinshaw. A free dinner will follow at 5:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall. At 6:30 p.m., Glenn Hall and family will give a musical performance. And evening service with keynote speaker Rev. Dr. Bernadine Daniels will take place at 7 p.m.
Morning service at 10 a.m. April 28 will be led by pastor Rod Mayer.
The name Aldersgate is taken from the name of the street in London where John Wesley held weekly meetings with a Christian men’s accountability study group. In his writings, he described a strangely warm feeling that came over him during these meetings as the Holy Spirit would heal his body, soul and spirit.
