Milford Woman Sentenced In Federal Court
A Milford woman was sentenced in federal court this week after she pleaded guilty to a felony offense of conspiracy to distribute marijuana.
Hayle Doty, 24, was sentenced by District Judge Jon DeGuilio to 30 months imprisonment and four years of supervised release. According to documents filed by the government in this case, Doty participated in a sophisticated drug conspiracy involving marijuana in a range of 100 to 400 kilograms.
The conspiracy involved several players, spanned several years and generated large cash profits. Law enforcement agencies determined during the investigation that Doty and Joseph Olivo, 32, formerly of Milford, were a major source of marijuana in Elkhart County.
During a warrant service on Olivo’s Rolling Prairie residence in September, firearms, cash and drugs were located. The estimated value of the drugs that were confiscated is $93,000.
This case was the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration. The LaPorte County Prosecutor’s Offices, the LaPorte County Drug Unit and the I.C.E. Unit for Elkhart County also participated. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney William Grimmer.
