Roger Bettinger
Roger Bettinger, 64, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2013, in his residence.
He was born Aug. 31, 1948, in Warsaw to Verle and Martha (Thacker) Bettinger Tucker. He graduated from Silver Lake High School, 1 of 26 students in the class of 1966, which was the last class before consolidation.
On July 15, 1972, he married Jacqueline K. Knowles in Warsaw. He was a machinist for DePuy for 33 years.
Roger was a member of the Warsaw Moose, National Rifle Association, American Bowling Association and was a sub at Warsaw Bowl. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer, a loving husband, a great dad who especially loved his grandchildren. He was known as a fiercely competitive brother; a rock solid man who was very well liked and had a tremendous sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife: Jackie Bettinger, Warsaw; a son: Darren Bettinger (Jennifer Brumbaugh, girlfriend), Winona Lake, Ind.; a daughter: Shanna Marie (Brent) Elmore, Copperas Cove, Texas; four grandchildren: Zachery A. Bettinger, Ocean Springs, Miss.; Breanna Katelynn Elmore, Copperas Cove, Texas; Tyler Lee Elmore, Copperas Cove, Texas; and Aiden William Elmore, Copperas Cove, Texas.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Kacy Lynn Bettinger; and his father: Verle Bettinger.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 26, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 27, in the funeral home with Pastor Bill Stevens. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.
