Boats Restricted On Barbee, Tippecanoe Chains
While the waters are now receding, Tippecanoe River overflowed its banks below the Webster Lake Dam in North Webster due to the recent rains. Hoosiers who sustained damage caused by severe weather and flooding that began April 17 and resulted through April 22, can report damage online.
Also, Lyn Crighton, executive director of Tippecanoe Watershed Foundation, said all boat traffic has been restricted on all lakes in the Barbee chain and on the Lake Tippecanoe chain as of this morning. She received a copy of the order from the Natural Resources Commission of the state of Indiana. Signs have been erected at the boat launches around the chain notifying boaters.
Anyone who has experienced flooding damage can fill out the form that is available on the Indiana Department of Homeland Security website. Individuals will be asked to provide their name, address, phone number and type of damage the property sustained. Losses can include structural damage to homes and loss of personal property.
