Day Of Caring Applicants Being Sought
United Way of Kosciusko County is still accepting applications for this year’s Day of Caring event that will take place Wednesday, Aug. 14.
The Day of Caring objective is to help Kosciusko County homeowners who are elderly, lower income or disabled. Volunteers will do limited work at rental properties such as general cleaning or yard work for elderly or those with physical limitations. Day of Caring services are funded by United Way so there is no cost to the homeowner.
United Way representatives will be visiting local communities, going door to door with applications. The deadline to submit an application has been extended to May 17 so people who are interested still have time to send them in.
Erin Smith, Community Impact coordinator for United Way of Kosciusko County, stated, “Our community has plenty of people ready and willing to volunteer their time and talents to the Day of Caring, but right now, we need people to send in their applications so they can be part of this incredible day.”
