North Webster Library Announcements
For centuries, people have used herbs for culinary, medicinal and ornamental purposes.
Learn about the many uses for herbs and how to save money growing your own in the “Hooked on Herbs” class series beginning at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at North Webster Public Library. It will be a fun hour of learning what herbs to plant, the best places to plant them such as in a pot or garden, pairing herbs with food, how to cook with culinary herbs, and how to use ornamental and fragrant herbs.
Saturday’s class is part of a three-part series taught by Janette Stackhouse that will continue on Saturday, July 13, and Saturday, Aug. 24.
Like to play cards? Come to the NWPL at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, for a friendly game of Euchre. We play a round robin format, so you have the chance to play with multiple partners and increase the fun. We play Euchre the first Tuesday of each month, so join us and bring your friends along with snacks to share.
The library offers a wealth of resources for learning, socializing, and acquiring new skills, and one of our most valuable resources is our staff.
Did you know you can “Book a Librarian” for a private session to get individualized assistance with: using the internet for the first time; researching a topic; typing a resume; navigating the library’s databases; learning to use our online catalog; downloading e-books; setting up a Facebook, Myspace, or Pinterest account; posting pictures on your personal page; setting up and using an e-mail account; and other help. We’re always glad to assist. To book a private 45-minute session with a member of our staff, stop by the front desk or call 574-834-7122.
Members of our staff are also available to speak to community groups on a variety of topics. You can also arrange to “Book a Tour” of the NWPL for your organization or youth group. We’ll show you around and explain the many resources and services that are available to our community. You can schedule a speaker or tour by calling 574-834-7122, e-mailing us at [email protected], or stopping by the Front Desk.
Don’t forget to visit our website and Facebook page, too. You’ll be able to access lots of information and resources there as well from the comfort of your home computer.
