Kosciusko County officials have now released more information regarding the arrest of a Warsaw man who is charged with fracturing a 2-year-old boy’s skull.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department detectives, along with officials from the Indiana Department of Child Services, were contacted by emergency room officials at Kosciusko Community Hospital Thursday at approximately 12:21 p.m. According to hospital employees, a 2-year-old was suffering from multiple injuries.
In an investigation into how the child was injured, officers spoke with the boy’s mother. Police then went to 1470 E. CR 550 S., Warsaw, where they met with Bradley V. Waikel, 24. Waikel was dating the mother of the 2-year-old and had been residing in the home.

An additional felony charge of battery of a child under the age of 14 resulting/causing serious bodily injury has also been filed.
Detectives said the 2-year-old was transferred from KCH to Riley’s Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis. The toddler is reportedly suffering from a skull fracture and multiple bruises. Police said the child had obvious injuries to his head and groin area.
Waikel is currently being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
