Panthers Topple Tigers
NAPPANEE – The Warsaw girls tennis team dropped a 4-1 final Tuesday night at Northern Lakes Conference foe NorthWood.
Junior Sarah Boyle, for the second straight night, was the lone winner for the Tigers.
Boyle rallied to defeat Emily Hoffman 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 singles for Warsaw’s lone point.
NorthWood won a pair of three-set matches in singles action.
Sydney Wyston outlasted Jacqueline Sasso 6-3, 4-6, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and Megan Reed topped Rachel Alexander 7-5, 5-7, 6-3 at No. 3 action.
The host Panthers won both doubles matches in straight sets.
Kennedy Walter and Tori Schwartz teamed at No. 1 to post a 6-1, 6-3 win over Olivia Wallin and Marley Smith. Taylor Stutzman and Alaina Donegan defeated Lindsay Sciarra and Mallory Bartel 7-5, 6-3 at No. 2.
Warsaw drops to 1-7 overall and 1-4 in NLC action.
Warsaw topped NorthWood 8-7 in JV action Tuesday. Winners in singles play for the Tigers were Blair Findlay (No. 1), Shelby Roberts (No. 3) and Danielle Straits (No. 5). Winning in doubles action were the teams of Abbi Baum and Mattie Doran, Camille Kerlin and Anna Hall, Olivia Tucker and Mackenzie Riley, Bonnie Wong and Rosalia Fleming and Abby Smith and Sydney Peugh.
Warsaw hosts NLC opponent Concord on Wednesday.
