Trio Lead Wawasee Past Plymouth
PLYMOUTH – Wawasee welcomed three wins apiece from Clayton Cook, Adam Doll and JJ Gilmer to cruise past Plymouth 75-57 in the final dual for both boys track clubs in the Northern Lakes Conference round robin at The Rock Pile.
Cook did his usual handywork in the hurdle events, taking the 110 at 15.83 and the 300 at 43.27, but received a stiff challenge from AJ Styers, who clocked in at 43.73.
Doll crafted together wins in the 800 at 2:08.03 and 1600 in 4:39.01.
Gilmer again displayed his prowess for flight, soaring over the high jump at 6’0″ and across the sand pit for a 21’01” long jump win.
Gilmer and Cook joined Michael Pena and Jake Hutchinson for a 44.43 win in the 4×100 relay while Doll, Zach Cockrill, Stori Bright and Jaxon Bame rolled to an 8:41.67 triumph in the 4×800 relay.
Austin Krizman and Cockrill crossed together in the 3200, Krizman one pace better at 11:09.06 and Kevin Carpenter sewed up a clearance of 11’0″ for the pole vault honors.
Wawasee finishes 3-4 in the Northern Lakes Conference and will focus on shoring up its preparation for Tuesday’s Northern Lakes Conference Championships at Warsaw High School. The freshmen and sophomores on the Warrior squad will have one more tune-up with entrance in Saturday’s Fort Wayne Concordia Freshman-Sophomore Invite.
