Lady Warriors Drop Two At Eastside
BUTLER – In the first year Wawasee has participated in the Eastside Softball Invite, it was not one to remember.
Wawasee lost both of its games, 2-1 to host Eastside and 9-2 to South Bend Adams, Saturday afternoon.
Erin Sirock and Ashton Miller drove in runs for Eastside, Miller’s RBI coming on a double in what was a two-run third inning for the Blazers. That’s all Miller would need in the circle, firing a five-hitter with six strikeouts.
Alli Ousley had two hits in the game and drove in Wawasee’s only run in the sixth inning. Kylee Norris shouldered the loss, giving up just seven hits in the contest.
In game two, Adams jumped all over Ousley, collecting nine hits and sending the ball all over the yard. Wawasee didn’t help Ousley any, committing seven errors in the field. Brittany Martens had three hits and scored three runs to lead the Eagles.
Kylee Rostochak and Paige Hlutke each had two hits for Wawasee, now 5-10 on the season. The club will get back at it Monday in a roadie with NorthWood at Stauffer Park.
