WHS Choir Raising Funds For Disney Trip
Wawasee High School choir students will be performing at Epcot in Disney World in Florida Dec. 20 in the Candlelight Processional. Students were required to audition and were selected to perform.
Students are busy raising close to $40,000 for the trip. They are selling business ads and will be holding a Nelsons Golden Glow barbecue and car wash from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at the Lakeland Youth Center in Syracuse. Students are taking pledges for the car wash.
At Disney World, the WHS choir will perform with approximately 300 high school choir students, a professional Disney orchestra and singers. Trace Adkins is the guest narrator for the performance Dec. 20. WHS will perform the processional twice while at Epcot.
The processional is a 45-minute presentation and culminates with the “Hallelujah Chorus” by George Handel. It is a collaboration of all sacred pieces with accompaniment and narration and tells of the birth of Christ.
WHS students will be leaving after school Dec. 18 and return Dec. 23.
Anyone interested in helping the choir to raise funds can contact the director, Connie Meadows, at (574) 457-3147.
