Ruth Ann Voorheis, 68, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at her residence.

She was born Sept. 25, 1944, in Marinette, Mich., to William and Ruth (Olson) Smeester. She had been a Syracuse resident since 1983.

Ruth Ann was a local business owner as well as a homemaker. She attended the Clunette United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her two sons: Garin Kirk (Kelly) Voorheis, Syracuse; Michael Ray (Leslie) Voorheis, Nashville, Tenn.; one daughter: Amanda (Joe) Workman-Bender, Elkhart, Ind.; and two grandchildren: Brandin and Brittin Bender.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ric Workman.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 12, at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse, prior to the service. There will be a memorial service to honor Ruth Ann’s life at 4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Mike Beezley of the Clunette United Methodist Church will officiate the service.
