Cutie Contest Applications Being Accepted
The North Webster Lioness Club is working on the 68th annual Mermaid Festival Cutie Contest and Cutie Parade and now is the time to get your favorite cutie entered for the competitions.
This year’s Mermaid Festival theme is “Land of Dixie – Country Style.” Kids up to 4 years old are encouraged to participate in the Cutie Parade, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 26. Kids ages 4 years to 6 years of age as of June 1 are allowed to participate in the Cutie Contest if they participate in the parade.
Applications for the Cutie King and Queen Pageant must be received no later than June 19th for participation in the pageant. The applications and rules can be printed from the North Webster Lions Club website or obtained by calling the Mermaid Festival Headquarters at 574-834-4316. Various North Webster businesses also have applications.
The pageant will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 28, at the North Webster Community Center. All pageant contestants must participate in the Mermaid Festival Cutie Parade.
The Shoop Sports and Youth Foundation Inc. will provide scholarships totaling $30,000 for the parade. Scholarships totaling $20,000 will be provided for the pageant.
