Boot Drive Collects $1,000 For Local Firefighter
On Saturday, the wives of Milford Fire Department volunteers collected donations at SR 15 and Emeline Street in Milford for a fellow firefighter.
Scott Thomas, 30, a Goshen firefighter and paramedic who lives in Warsaw, is battling brain cancer. In mid-June Thomas and his wife, Stacy, will welcome their second child.
Thomas will soon be undergoing surgery to remove the mass and then will face months of radiation or chemotherapy.
On Saturday, Jennifer Mast and Ann Schlabach, who organized the Boot Drive, along with several other women collected $1,112 for the Thomas family. The donation for the family will be delivered to the Thomas family by the Milford Fire Department in the near future.
