The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and area law enforcement wish to warn citizens of yet another Internet scam that is currently occurring.

Individuals have recently been receiving emails offering financial loans or “government loans.” The current scammer persuades the victim to purchase “Green Dot” reloadable debit cards and provide the information from the card to process the fee for the loan.  The victim is also asked to provide their banking institution’s account numbers so the loan can be directly deposited into their account.

Kosciusko County Sheriff Rocky Goshert said the information has been released by detectives to inform citizens of the various methods of criminal fraud currently being used against the public.
