Robert C. Deckys, 39, of Warsaw, Ind., died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at his residence after an extended illness.

On Aug. 8, 1973, Robert was born to Albert and Karen (Kroc) Deckys in LaGrange, Ill. He has lived most of his life in Kosciusko County.

On Nov. 13, 2005, he married Dallas Mchargue in Warsaw; she survives.

Robert enjoyed his time outside, playing golf at Racoon Run, Warsaw; he enjoyed art, especially pencil sketches and was extremely good hearted. He was known as a loving father.

Robert graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 1993 and attended Vincennes University.  Robert worked as a machine operator for DeGood Dimensional Concepts, North Webster, Ind., and other various orthopedic locations in Warsaw.

Robert  is survived by his wife: Dallas Deckys, Warsaw; his son: Kayden Deckys, Warsaw; his parents: Albert and Karen Deckys, Warsaw; two sisters: Debra (Brad) Hren, Warsaw; and Laura (Kevin) Hazlett, Warsaw; and three nieces and two nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, May 20, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, with Father Phil DeVolder officiating. Burial will be private.

The family has asked for memorials to be made out to the Kayden Deckys Education Fund c/o Albert Deckys.
