Allen Eugene Wardlow
Allen Eugene Wardlow, 64, of Nappanee, Ind., passed away on Feb. 26, 2013, while visiting his granddaughter in Ellisville, Miss.
He was born Aug. 13, 1948, in Noblesville, Ind., to Shyrl Arlene Wardlow and Patricia Rose (Grimes) Wardlow – Collums. Allen grew up in Indiana. Allen married Arlie Jewel (Stone) Wardlow in 1987 in Alabama. They were happily married for 30 years.
He joined the U.S. Army in June of 1969 serving his country in Vietnam for two years. He worked for Tyson Foods in Albertville, Ala., for 18 years, until he was medically retired in 2012. Allen enjoyed flea markets, scrapping, working on the computer and reading. His favorite actor was John Wayne and his favorite TV show was Mash.
Allen is survived by his wife; a daughter: Kimberly (Vic) Detzler; a stepdaughter: Terrie Rolinger, Crossville, Ala.; and one stepson: Allen (Lisa) Stewart, Albertville, Ala.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; sisters: Cindie Shumaker and Marika (Tim) Kunder, both of Bremen; one brother: Tim Wardlow, Mississippi; and three step-sisters: Jo (Henry) Bullard; Grace Clark, Woodland, Miss.; Regina (Rodney) Burgess; and one step-brother: FW (Wanda) Collums, Houston, Miss.
Allen was preceded in death by his father; his daughter: Cathy Wardlow; his sister: Sheryl; and his mother.
A memorial service will be held at The Bremen Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 24.
