Richard L. ‘Dick’ Felts
Richard L. ‘Dick’ Felts, 72, of Nappanee, Ind., died at 3:35 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at his residence from a short illness.
He was born on May 18, 1940, at home in Nappanee to Leroy and Virginia (Heaton) Felts. He was a lifetime area resident. Dick retired from Holiday Rambler and Monaco Coach. Dick married Zula Conley on April 25, 1964, in Nappanee. She survives.
He was in the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Nappanee American Legion, DAV, and a former member of the VFW. He was a collector of cast iron, and enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandchildren, and his dog.
He is survived by his wife; his son: Richard Glenn (Michele) Felts, South Bend, Ind.; a daughter: Tammy S. (Ron) Golden; grandchildren: Abby and Zoey Felts, Brandon Rasler, and Joshua Golden; a sister: Thelma (Don) Rink, Nappanee; and a brother: Steven Felts, Murphy, N.C.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Charles C. Felts.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, at Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Pastor Larry Pletcher of Northwood Chapel in Nappanee will officiate. Burial will follow at Union Center Cemetery with military graveside services.
