Ferguson Picks Ancilla
WARSAW – Warsaw Community High School student-athlete Jason Ferguson has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Ancilla College in the fall.
Ferguson, a speedy outfielder and crafty pitcher for the Tigers this season, joins two teammates headed to Ancilla this fall.
The senior standout hit .338 on the season including a tremendous .464 with runners in scoring position. Ferguson was also the workhorse on the mound for the Tigers, pitching a team high 44 innings and leading the team in wins with a 4-3 record on the mound while leading the team in strikeouts-walks ratio with a 2.27 mark.
Ferguson, who also played basketball for the Tigers and was instrumental in this year’s basketball sectional championship, earned four varsity letters at WCHS. An annual volunteer at Miller’s Merry Manor with the baseball team, Ferguson was awarded with the “Coaches’ Award” for Tiger basketball this season.
The scholar-athlete intending to major in Sports Marketing, Ferguson racked up an impressive 9.47 grade-point-average on a 12-point scale.
