Royce Lenfestey
Royce Lenfestey, 68, of Atwood, Ind., passed away at 3:06 a.m. Monday, May 27, 2013, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born Sept. 22, 1944, Marion, Ind., to Earl Lenfestey and Gwenevere (Powell) Lenfestey. He was a 1963 graduate of Mississinewa High School, Gas City, Ind., and spent most of is life in the Warsaw, Ind., area. Royce married Cathern J. Kneeland on March 19, 1973, in Pierceton, Ind.
He entered the US Navy Sept. 11, 1963; served in the Viet Nam War; ADRAN Royce A. Lenfestey was honorably discharged Sept. 6, 1967. He worked as a Lineman for Guardian in Ligonier, Ind. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #49. He immensely enjoyed shopping for anything that had supped up engines and he worked on the numerous vehicles he owned. Royce enjoyed shopping for guns and hunting in general and he raised and showed Satin Rabbits all over the United States. He enjoyed racing in general but especially Nascar where he was a Kasey Kahne follower and those who in the past drove Dodges. In his younger years, he participated in drag racing. He enjoyed lake activities and times spent in Holden Beach, N.C. He was a loving husband, dad and grandfather who video taped all important family events including the first day of school for his children.
He is survived by his wife; four sons: Ryan Lenfestey, Warsaw; Kyle Lenfestey, Warsaw; Bryan Lenfestey, Warsaw; Shayne Lenfestey, Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters: Heather Stolte, Wanatah, Ind.; Mistina Lenfestey, Oklahoma; 18 grandchildren; a brother: Cort Lenfestey, Warsaw; a sister: Wrenay (Russ) Kann, Leesburg, Ind.; step-brother: Darren Lenfestey, Gas City; and a step-sister: Lisa.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Earl Lenfestey; Jerel Lenfestey; and Pete Lenfestey.
Visitation will take place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, June 3, at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Stony Point Cemetery, Atwood, Ind. Military honors will be conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126
