Red Cross Deploys Local Volunteer
Kosciusko Volunteer Susanne Siebrase deploys for Oklahoma. She will depart tomorrow morning to work in Shawnee, Okla., as a disaster mental health volunteer. Siebrase is a Tippecanoe Middle School counselor, who just finished her last day of the school year yesterday. This is her second deployment.
Locally, the threat of severe weather has been forecast for this weekend, and the Red Cross encourages those with smartphones to download the free Tornado App to help stay informed. More than 167,000 people have already downloaded the app this month, and there have been almost 450,000 downloads since its launch in March.
You can also help Oklahoma tornado victims through the American Red Cross disaster relief fund. Text REDCROSS to 90999 to give $10, or donate online at RedCross.org. Ninety-one cents of every dollar the Red Cross receives goes directly to helping victims of disaster. The Red Cross relies on the generosity of volunteers and donors to carry out our Mission of providing immediate needs to victims of disaster.
